Your categories are your business language

5 PM Money Room check-in.

Today we’re talking about chart of accounts, but let’s make it feel human.

Your chart of accounts is the way your business organizes money. It is the set of categories that helps you see what you earned, what you spent, and where the money actually moved.

Good categories make your numbers easier to read. Too many categories can create clutter. Too few can hide important patterns.

Today’s tiny action:

Look at one business expense from the last week and ask, “Where would this belong?”

Software? Supplies? Education? Contractor help? Rent? Marketing? Meals? Inventory? Professional services?

Comment with one category your business needs to track more clearly.

A clean chart of accounts helps future you make cleaner decisions.
